When the Navy told us we were moving to Oak Harbor, Washington we had no idea that not only would we love this little island but that we would make it our home long after Pat retired from the Navy.
We have two plots of land here that we keep our horses on. The moderate weather provides a great home for horses. We are rural but close enough to "civilization" to be convenient, though that is due to urban "creep" rather than our desire.
Our children attended high school at Oak Harbor High School. Our daughter even taught in the district for a while.
We puchased our Sultan farm in November of 2003 - 50 stalls with a 60 X 220 arena.
The 11 acres boast a gorgeous view of the mountains and great fishing in nearby Skykomish River.
